Feddal's Sporting win first Portuguese league in 19 years

12/05/2021

Sporting Lisbon are crowned league champions in Portugal 19 years after their last triumph. Zouhair Feddal's side broke the duopoly of Porto and Benfica after beating Boavista 1-0 with a single goal in the first half.

The white lions have had a historic season after winning the Taça de la Liga and lifting the league title with two games left. To make the achievement even more incredible, they have now gone 32 consecutive matches without defeat. An all-time record that can be made even more unbelievable if they win their last two games and make it a clean sweep of victories.

The combination in the team is perfect. Ambitious youngsters and proven experience to produce a statistic of only 15 goals conceded in the league. This is largely thanks to one of the leaders at the back: Zouhair Feddal. The Moroccan defender has made 28 starts in the league, with an average of 86 minutes played. He has also scored 2 goals and provided 4 assists.

Two games to go and one objective to achieve: to be crowned as the invincible team. The desire and the ambition are there, so let's go for the record and congratulations!
