North Macedonia, with Stole Dimitrievski in goal, achieve a historic qualification for the playoffs for Qatar 2022 World Cup

//

Five wins and three draws in the ten qualifiers games for the Qatar 2022 World Cup allow North Macedonia to get into the playoffs and have an opportunity which is already historic. In group J, Macedonian achieved a meritorious second place, above national teams more used to participating in big tournaments.

Most of the good results this team got are responsibility of a familiar face for LaLiga Santander. Stole Dimitrievski, Rayo Vallecano’s goalkeeper represented by Promoesport, is the guardian of the Macedonian goal. His great performances are fundamental to understand the milestone that North Macedonia has achieved and that can even become more memorable if they end up qualifying for the World Cup –it would be their first ever participation on the tournament–.

Dimitrievski has got a clean sheet on the 50% of this preliminary stage's matches. Besides, in two other games he has just conceded one goal, one of them in their victory against Germany, which is even more meritorious. He has played every single minute, conceding just 1,1 goals per game, and completing 2,4 saves every 90 minutes, with a success rate of 69%. It is worth noting that he hasn’t made any non-forced error leading to a goal.
