Heroic night for Geny Catamo

The 28th round of the Portuguese League left us with a double from Geny Catamo, represented by Promoesport, in the clash between Sporting Lisbon and Benfica.

It only took a minute for the 'green and white' striker to score the first goal of the night. After a mistake by Benfica, Morten Hjulmand sent the ball into the box from the right flank, and Catamo unexpectedly popped up to slot the ball into the back of the net.

At 45+3 minutes Benfica equalised. In the second half, in a game where it looked like it was going to be a draw, the hero of the night arrived once again. In the 90th minute a corner was awarded to Sporting, Catamo waited outside the area as if he knew that the rebound was going to fall right to him, controlled with his chest and without thinking twice sent a strong shot with his right foot that ended up entering the right corner of the goalkeeper and generating absolute madness in the José Alvalade stadium.

The win confirmed Sporting CP's position at the top of the table and left them on 71 points. For his part, the Mozambique striker has now scored five goals this season and is preparing for the next match where the 'lions' will visit Gil Vicente.
