Promoesport launches an educational awareness campaign for young footballers

//

Promoesport has developed the campaign “Education and Sport play the same game” with the objective of promoting academic and values education among young football players, with the participation of Vicente Moreno, RCD Espanyol manager; Alberto Edjogo, football commentator; and Jacinto Elá, adviser and voted the best under-14 player in the world on his footballing career.

Through a colloquium between Vicente Moreno and Alberto Edjogo, held at the Barcelona Olympic and Sports Museum, Promoesport promotes the academic education among the young players with two figures of a great reputation in this sector. The main reason is that only a 0,2% of the federated footballers in Spain make it to professionalism.

This awareness campaign contributes to enhance Promoesport’s compromise with generating knowledge by and for the benefit of the younger players, who must be aware of the reality of football these days. José Rodríguez Baster ‘Rodri’, Founder and Director of Football in Promoesport, considers that this campaign “is a great chance for the youth. Here we do not talk about football, but about building your future based on your passion. Find the purpose and grow personally and professionally doing what you like. From Promoesport, we hope we can open the young players’ eyes, as society is not aware that more than the 99% of the players in Spain do not get to making a living from football”.

“Education and Sport play the same game” brings together the concern for education and the quality formation in the sector and is part of the Social Responsibility plan the agency follows, with which it will continue to support the future development of the sector and their groups of interest with other programmes.
