Pere Pons,
Luis Rioja and Rubén Duarte sealed Alavés' stay in LaLiga Santander after beating Granada (4-2). The
three players represented by Promoesport scored a goal in the match at Mendizorroza.
The team depended on themselves and they succeeded. In the first minutes,
Pere Pons took advantage of a dead ball situation in the area to score the first goal. Minutes later,
Rubén Duarte took advantage of a rebound to score the second goal of the match.
Granada's reaction was not long in coming and they equalised until
Luis Rioja sealed the three points with a powerful shot from the edge of the area. The match ended with a 4-2 and a big celebration on the pitch.
Edgar Méndez, who was unable to take part in the match, has played a leading role throughout the season.
After a difficult season, three coaches and several ups and downs,
the team has secured its sixth consecutive season in the top flight of Spanish football just 20 years after the UEFA Final in Dortmund.
